On the July 24, 2017 (Monday), a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between UM (IHRUM) and Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC). The purpose of this MoU is to place IHRUM as one of the Halal research centres under HDC.

Discussion between CEO of HDC, Dato' Seri Jamil bin Bidin and the Director of IHRUM, Prof. Dr. Ramli bin Abdullah was a focus on the direction of the MoU.



The signing ceremony was signed by Tan Sri Amin bin Jalaludin, Universiti Malaya Vice-Chancellor and Dato 'Seri Jamil bin Bidin, CEO of HDC.
