Background UMHRC

The establishment of UMHRC will target several objectives as follows:

  1. To make university of malaya as an icon and reference center of excellence for halal research.
  2. Conduct halal research in various disciplines at University of Malaya (multi- and trans-disciplinary).
  3. Develop networks and synergies between Islamic scientists at University of Malaya and local and international scientists through high impact publications.
  4. Provide halal-related information through its ICT network.
  5. Provide training programs, courses, skills workshops and halal-related awareness programs.
  6. Provide halal lab forensic analysis services.
  7. Provide consultancy, advice and support services related to scientific and non-scientific matters to civil society and industry related to halal activities.
  8. Developing halal products for the industry through research that meets the requirements of sharia.
  9. To assist in the development of halal industries in the country and internationally through halal research
